Bridgemate fine-tuning tool Note: this finetuning tool is only for users in EUROPE. When the program is finished, it will reload the English firmware 2.3.2a EN with European frequency. When you experience a reduced range between a specific Bridgemate and the server, it might help to refine-tune the transmission frequency of the Bridgemate and adjust it to the exact frequency of the server. Due to tolerance in the components used in the radiomodule of the Bridgemate and server, the actual frequency can be different from the system frequency. When the used frequency between server and Bridgemate differ too much, there is a reduction in transmission range. This small tool helps you in re-finetuning a Bridgemate. It examines the frequency of both Bridgemate and server, and then adjusts the Bridgemate frequency to the server's frequency. Afterwards, both server and Bridgemate are again reprogrammed with the latest firmware files and are ready to be used again. This tool may also be used to recover a Bridgemate from a "Replace battery" condition. Preparations: - You need a computer with TWO serial ports. This can be a different computer than the one in use for the Bridgemate system. If the computer does not possess two serial ports, use one or two USB->serial converters to create the required two serial ports. It is possible to use a standard serial port and a USB serial port. Also, two USB serial ports can be used. - You need the Bridgemate server that is in use at the club. Connect it to one of the serial ports. - You need the Bridgemate data communication cable. Connect it to the other serial port. - Open the winzip file and extract the fine-tune program. Start: - Double-click on the extracted fine-tune program to begin. - Connect a Bridgemate to the data communication cable. Make sure batteries are inserted. - Press the Start button and follow the instructions on the screen. The whole process goes automatically and takes a few minutes. - When the fine-tuning proces is finished, you will be asked to fine-tune another Bridgemate. Press Yes to do so, or press No to quit. The server will now be reloaded with firmware v1.2.6. When finished: - When finished and the server has been reprogrammed, disconnect the power supply from the server to make sure its memory is cleared. If you fail to do so, you may experienced error messages in Bridgemate Pro Control while using Bridgemate Pro. If the server was not reprogrammed at the end, you can do it manually using serv126.exe (available from: http://www.bridgemate.com/resources/firmware/serv126.exe)
